A hydraulic car lift is designed to be installed in buildings where there is not enough space for ramps, especially smaller buildings. The car platforms are raised and lowered by using hydraulic pumps and Scissors: the only exception being that the size and load carrying capacity of lift platform is in accordance with the dimensions and weight of the largest vehicle to be transported between floors.
